Julian (Jules) Ciotta returned to his Creator on November 3rd. He was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on July 30, 1929 to Angelo and Susan Ciotta. He attended the University of Alabama, graduated with a BA in English from Seton Hall University and later attained a Master's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. Jules proudly served as MP in the US Army attaining the rank of Captain. Jules was active in Sports and Community Activities, amongst which was heading the 4th of July Parade (largest in the country), and was named Young Man and Man of the Year by both Plainfield and North Plainfield Jaycees. He loved Life, Alabama football and the New York Yankees. He was President of the Parish Council during the building of the new Saint Lawrence Catholic Church in 1987. The Newspaper business was the beginning of a career in management positions for over 20 years. Jules served as Assistant to the President of Middlesex County College, moving on to create his own business called Motivation/Communications. He served as a consultant to many major companies over four decades. Jules touched many lives for good by not only working with his clients but also their family members, for he never met a stranger. He taught Psychology at Rutgers, Emory, Oglethorpe and Georgia State Universities amongst others. His final endeavor included authoring a book "The Art of Majoring in Minor Things". When Jules married his soul mate Trish in 1978, he gained another son Eric (Dana) and daughter Jennifer along with his four children: Paul, Bruce (Vickie), Diane (Tommy) and Pam (Jay). Jules is survived by 12 grandchildren (predeceased by Matthew and Joseph) and 9 great grandchildren. Eric's two daughters, Sydney and Lauren, called their "Pa's" home their own. Jules is also survived by two brothers, Bob and Don and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 10th at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 1350 Hearst Drive, Brookhaven, GA 30319 at 10am and will be followed by Mass at 11am with a reception to follow. I was sad to learn of the passing of Jules. But celebrate that he is now with the Lord. He consulted with the newspaper where I work for many years. My husband Jay and I thought highly of Jules. I'm glad to see he got his book published. Our condolences to the family.
