    OBITUARY:
Lola Graves came into this world February 25, 1935 as Lola Fairest Legg and she departed October 26, 2018 as Lola “Blackie” Graves. Her passing was not unexpected, as she disappeared into the fog of Alzheimer’s a few years back. Not surprising, but still a gut-kick shock to her family. Married to Donald “Duck” Berton Graves in 1955, they had a solid, happy sixty+ years together. Virtually her entire life, Lola was a passionate, lightening rod, heart first girl. She was not afraid to stand up, walk into the fire, fight to the death for what she believed to be right, bi*ch from hell when required, especially when it came to protecting her six children. An actual Coal Miner’s Daughter from Webster Springs, West Virginia, she had eight brothers and sisters, six children (Donnie, Scottie, David, Mary Kathryn, Jean, and Tricia), four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Lola added to the world. She provided and produced an incredible amount of love that continues to flow and echo through and from her children, family, friends, and virtually anyone whom she was with longer than fifteen minutes. We six children are so very sad for losing our dear mother, but we are also very glad, proud, and lucky to have been raised, reared, guided, shaped and sent out into life by this woman. Thanks for everything mom and enjoy your next well deserved adventure. Blackie’s memorial service/Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org
