OBITUARY:
Armando Samuel Miccoli III, Ph.D., of Sylvania, Georgia, Screven, born on May 19, 1961 in Marietta, Georgia, Cobb, to Shirley Anne Bryant and the late Armando S. Miccoli, Jr., passed away at age 57 on August 4, 2018 in Decatur, Georgia, Dekalb after a brief battle with cancer. He graduated from Walden University with a PHD Education, received his Specialist in Education from Lincoln Memorial University, earned his MBA from Georgia Southern University and attended the University of Georgia where he received a BS in Microbiology. Armando was the beloved husband of Leanne Miccoli and passed away by her side. He was also a widower twice over. He lost Eileen Miccoli in 2016 and Penny Miccoli in 2005. Amelia Castillian-Moore, still living in Savannah, was his first wife. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Miccoli. Armando is survived by his sons, Armando S. Miccoli, IV of Savannah, GA, Joshua Weathers of Rome, GA, and Michael Miccoli of Marietta, GA; and brother, Christopher Miccoli in Screven county, GA. Armando had a passion for collecting all things science related: minerals, sharks teeth, and fossils. He also has a passion for photography, camping, and was nationally recognized firearms instructor. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America - Scout Master and Member of the Order Of The Arrow. Several celebrations of his life will be held. They will be private. Armando was cremated at Fischer Funeral Care & Cremation Services, 3742 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, (678) 514-1000. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the Boys Scouts of America - Atlanta Chapter or an education related charity of your choice.
