    OBITUARY:
    Brian David Battles, Atlanta, GA. died July 6, 2018 Brian was born in Huntsville, AL Feb. 28,1969. At age 4 he was diagnosed with and treated for Leukemia at St. Jude Children's Hospital. Due to side effects from Chemotherapy and radiation, he developed brain damage and a seizure disorder. Brian moved with his family to Atlanta in 1977, to a warm and loving neighborhood. He loved boating and fishing, and was a member of the Happy Club, a Y program. He loved playing his guitar in his Sunday School class at ST. Jude's Catholic Church. For 35 years, Brian was in the therapeutic horseback program at Chastain Horse Park. He loved his instructors, the amazing volunteers and most of all the horses. Brian moved into a group home in 2008. The family appreciated the care of his provider ResCare of GA. Brian also went to the DeKalb Services Center day program and he so loved his teacher Roxanne. He is survived by his mother Lorraine, father Don, brothers; Gary (Kim, David)and Brett (Kelly, Grace, Weston). A funeral Mass will be held at OLA Catholic Church, Brookhaven, at 11am Sat. July 21. Visitation will be one hr. prior to Mass in the Narthex, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made DeKalb Services Center,2660 Osborn Rd.,Brookhaven, GA. 30319 or Chastain Horse Park Therapeutic Program,4171 Powers Ferry Rd. Atlanta, Ga 30321 or St. Jude Children's Hosp P.O.Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis, TN 38148
