OBITUARY:
Celia Josephine Porcelli died June 14, 2018 at the age of 70. Born in Bronx, NY on September 9, 1947 to Carmine (Carl) and Marie (Mary) Porcelli; raised in Miami, FL and relocated to Atlanta with Bell South; she retired in 2002 after 37 years with the phone company. Celia loved gardening, reading, baking, walking, traveling and collecting cookbooks. One of her favorite places was Hilton Head Island. She loved her family and was a kind and caring friend. She was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2015 and received a stem-cell transplant from her brother Joe who was a 100% match. Even though she was cancer-free, she struggled constantly with the side effects of the treatments. She fought courageously and with grace. The family would like to thank all the excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and clinic of Northside Hospital as well as the support from Atlanta Blood Services and Regency Home Care. Celia is survived by her husband John Milam, step-son Greg (Liz), sisters Joyce Latham and Jo Hershfield (Neil), brothers Peter and Joseph Porcelli, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many very dear friends. A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 18 at 10:30 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 2443 Mt Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338 Her cremains will be interred at a future date in DeLand (FL) Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Celia's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or you could consider donating blood or platelets in her name.

In the early 1980's I was introduced to Celia by her sister Jo in Miami. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
