Marilynn Wissman Reynolds, devoted wife and beloved mother, passed away on October 5, 2017 in Atlanta, GA at the age of 93. Marilynn Eleanor Wissman was born to Louis and Edythe Wissman in New Haven, CT on January 11, 1924. As a young girl, she learned the value of hard work from her immigrant parents who instilled in her a patriotic spirit and love for her country. She volunteered at the American Legion during World War II and worked at American Steel & Wire, where she first met and fell in love with Joseph John Reynolds, an Army veteran. They married in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in West Haven, CT on June 14, 1947. So began Marilynnís life as the wife of an accounting executive, making a home for her husband and children as they moved to several towns in the U.S. Steel corporate offices, finally settling south of Pittsburgh, PA in Mt. Lebanon. She excelled as a homemaker for her husband and four children - Judy, Debbie, Mark, and Kathy. All were welcome and happy under her roof. Life handed her its most difficult challenges in the death of her newborn daughter Linda Jo, and then again in 1968, when she lost both her husband Joe and son Mark in a tragic automobile accident. Undeterred and with the strength of angels, she raised her 3 daughters alone and worked well into her 80ís as a bookkeeper and secretary. She was a friend to all, and a kind, gentle and loving mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic parish in Castle Shannon. PA. She is survived by daughters Judy Lemmons (Jeff Lemmons) of Crownsville MD, Debby Hardy (Jeff Hardy) of Atlanta GA, and Kathy Thomas (Eli Thomas) of Carnegie PA. She was also a constant presence in the lives of her grandchildren, Kara Donofrio (Andrew Donofrio), of Arlington VA and Matthew Chaffin of Annapolis MD, and of her great-grandchildren Christian and Adelyn Donofrio. Services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 400 Hoodridge Dr, Castle Shannon, PA this Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:30 am with interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Catholic Charities ( or the Alzheimerís Association ( St Judeís Hospital
