    OBITUARY:
Pauline M. McCarthy, 83, beloved spouse of Jeremiah B. McCarthy, passed peacefully on the morning of July 20, 2010. Lively, fun-loving, artistic, passionate, lover of music, art, babies (and creator of the latter two), she will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, her children and their spouses (Michael and Bambi, Kathleen and Tony, Daniel and Carol, and Mary and Will), and her grandchildren: Max, Dani, Miranda, Torin, Kerry, Sean, Connor, Eleanor, and Bohdan. She treasured her time with her sisters and relatives in Cape Cod and Boston, and with dear friends at Holy Cross Church and in Grosse Pointe. In addition to her adventures chaperoning a trip of students to the Soviet Union; traveling with Jerry to Ireland, Alaska, and Lake Louise; she loved annual Thanksgiving family beach reunions, gardening, dessert, and whistling. She brought comfort and joy to many as Paulette the Clown, as a hospice volunteer, and as a St. Stephens Minister, and worked at both Parke-Davis and Georgia Pacific. Her smile and warmth touched friends and strangers alike. Wake on Thursday, 7/22, 7–9 p.m. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, 7/23; both at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3773 Chamblee Tucker Rd. Atlanta, GSA 30341. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Martin de Porres Ministry at Holy Cross.

Jerry and family, So sad when we heard the news- to think we had such a great time a few short days ago with you and Pauline at dinner. So glad we had the time to see you both and enjoy your company. Pauline's stories were always the best. Just her voce alone made us smile. Take care and we will be in touch

Uncle Jerry, Michael, Kathy, Dan and Mary, Our hearts go out to all of you. We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Pauline's passing but thankful it was so peaceful. I can't tell you how blessed we were to have had our weekend in Vermont in June. We've been lucky to have seen Jerry and Pauline nearly every year and the trip to Vermont was a godsend to Kevin and me, never thinking it would be the last visit with Pauline. We can only imagine the depth of your sorry upon losing someone so vibrant, positive and close to all of you. Just know that each of you had a special place in her heart as she lovingly brought us up to date on all of you each year. We will miss her smile; she truly was a special lady. With love and sympathy, Mary and Kevin.

All, We're so very sorry for your loss, and we mourn with you. It was a pleasure to have met Polly and spent some time with her -- she was a lovely woman, cheery, sweet and possessed of a sparkling vigor. We know you'll miss her. Kathleen, Tony, girls, we'll be waiting with gigantic hugs when you come home. Love, John, Jean, Hope and Anna

Dear Uncle Jerry, Michael, Kathleen, Daniel and Mary: I am truly at a loss. I wish there was something I could say or do to help you through this. I will always remember the fun we had all together and Auntie Polly singing "I had a hat when I came in" with Uncle Jerry's hat on. Love, Katheen
