    OBITUARY:
Danna Cooke Reid, 83, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2017 in Decatur, GA. Born in Maynardville, TN, Danna spent most of her early years living in Knoxville, TN. There she attended secretarial school and worked as a secretary for Levi Strauss & Co. She met and married her husband of 49 years, Gordon, with whom she traveled, biked, camped, and entertained friends. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Pleasant Hills, PA, where they became long-time residents and made enduring friendships, especially with their neighbors on Millet Lane. Danna focused on being a caring, stay-at-home mom whose greatest desire was to help her family. She created a beautiful home through her flair for gardening and decorating. An active member of the Pleasant Hills Garden Club for over 30 years, she loved to enter her flower arrangements in competitions. Skilled at making Japanese flower arrangements, she became an assistant teacher for the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Pittsburgh. In addition, she volunteered as a master flower show judge and served on the board of the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. Danna was guided throughout life by her faith in God. She was a long-time member of the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and Altar Guild Chairman. After Gordonís death, Danna moved to Lilburn, GA to be close to her daughterís family. There she joined Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church and loved being with her grandchildren. On February 27, Danna was laid to rest next to her husband during a private service at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Dannaís memory will be cherished by daughter Heather Rasler (Frank) and grandchildren Liam and Alivia Rasler. In addition to her husband Gordon, Danna was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie and James Cooke; and siblings Juanita Scott, Earl Cooke, Bonnie Wright, Marie Pierce, Trula Duenas, Ann Estabrook, and Dorothy Lee. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Dannaís name to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 1400 Killian Hill Rd., Lilburn, GA 30047.
