Susan Sadler Ratterree, 65, of Atlanta passed away on January 19th, 2017. Susan, the daughter of Zaida Willis Clay (Wood) was native to Atlanta and a Westminster graduate, who gained her undergraduate degree in psychology from University of Colorado. She is survived by her brother, Ryburn Clay Ratterree; daughters, Rebecca Travis Gay and Susan Sadler Stafford and her son, Charles Clark Gay III and several grandchildren which were the love of her life; Emma Travis Caulkins, Archer Dane Caulkins and James Guthrie Sneed as well as Adelaide Lee Gay and Charles Clark Gay IV and lastly Waylon Augustus Stafford. Devoting her life and time to being a caregiver and an undeniable lover of animals, Susan displayed a kind character of one who was empathetic, sensitive and intuitive for both animals and people. This quality was exhibited in the way she brightened everyone’s day with her kind soul and loving heart. Ultimately, her family was her love and she taught them how to “love with your whole heart”, forgive other’s and lend a helping hand every chance you get. These were important lessons that will be carried on by those who loved her and allow her legacy to live on and make the world a better place, as she would have been honored to have taught. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
